Before the world began to slowly open it’s doors once again, there was a moment of contemplation. Some found triumph while staying at home, thriving in confined spaces while distant from others. Others held a firm grip, finding ways to navigate through financial endeavors while unlearning toxic personal habits. Being re-introduced to the world, released from shelter-in-place, posed the question to all of us:

“What is your shelter now?”

The ultimate form of shelter, to me, comes from the empowerment of self. Finding shelter in your own skin; learning to love your physical body & the roots of your ancestry. Finding shelter in your own baggage; learning to accept your insecurities & forgive your past self. Finding shelter in your hopefulness; not being afraid to dream & being willing to fail. I only wish to be at home with myself, always.
